Paleo Weight-loss: Back to Basics

A new start.

Here I am, 18 months after my hip replacement operation. I’m about 95% back to full strength and feel that the time is right to set about losing the remainder of my excess weight.

Let’s start with a recap. When I started eating Paleo back in May 2014 I set myself the target of losing 100lbs. Over the following two years I successfully lost 70lbs, but then the weight-loss came to a complete standstill when I found out that I needed a hip replacement.

So, yes, two years of successful weight-loss, followed by a two year break, and now it is time to start again.

Throughout the last four years I have continued to follow the ‘Paleo diet’ because this is just the way I eat now. Beyond that, there are several ways that I adapt my eating and activity level in order to create a slow but steady weight-loss of 1lb per week. (I know, I know, it sounds like *such* slow progress.)

I have 28lbs to lose to reach my original target. I use myfitnesspal.com to help me keep track of my weight-loss progress and I’m going to add my ticker to the weight-loss pages on the blog (note: my target on myfitnesspal.com is 7lbs lower, at 35lbs to lose and it sounds like a long way to go, but to keep everything simple I’m going to stick with this 35lb target from now on.)
